A day out in Teignmouth

A day out in Teignmouth

Teignmouth, the Gem of South Devon. It really is a beautiful place to spend time and how lucky we are that it is our hometown. Here we share a few of our favourite things about the town.

9AM
9am: Start the day with a traditional English breakfast at The Oyster Catchers Café.

10.30
10:30am: Head for a stroll along the back beach, with views over to Shaldon. Notice the colourful beach huts you will have seen in our imagery and an array of rowboats on the shore.

11am: Got kids? Take them for a blow out in our amazing Play Park on the seafront. Young at heart? Have a game of Adventure Golf, you are at the seaside after all.

1pm: If you fancy the seaside classic fish and chips head to Finn McCools. Watch out for the rogue seagulls, they hold no prisoners in this town.

2pm: Full tummy’s and time for fun at the Pier. The pier was built in 1865, in recent years has been knocked about by our rough seas but still hold its glory as a fun family attraction in the town. It’s a family run venue with lots of traditional games that ensure a good time for young and old.

3pm: For a relaxed afternoon pop over to see our neighbours over the water in Shaldon on the ferry. The Teignmouth to Shaldon ferry is a small passenger boat that runs every 10-15 minutes all year round. Shaldon is a beautiful village that has lots of narrow alleys and beautiful houses to weave your way around.

4:30pm: Head back on the ferry and enjoy a pint at The Ship Inn. The kids can play on the back beach, whilst you relax and watch the winter sun go down. The Ship is a firm favourite in the town, especially in summer when they boast live music on the beach!
